**Minecraft 2** is a 2020 [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_novel|visual novel]] developed by [[killo|KilLo]]. It was originally released on March 30, 2020, it was his first game using the [[https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%27Py|Ren'Py]] game engine. It is a comedic story-based game with multiple characters to meet and locations to visit.

Minecraft 2 was based on a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scratch_(programming_language)|Scratch]] game [[killo|KilLo]] challenged [[roggzerz|roggzerz]] to make in 1 hour. v1.0 was a remake of the original Scratch game using the [[https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%27Py|Ren'Py]] game engine. It was released on March 30, 2020. Very soon after, v2.0 began development, being a rework from the ground up and adding a lot more content and story, it also formed the Minecraft Parody Series, as [[minecraft_3|Minecraft 3]] was planned from the beginning of Minecraft 2 v2.0. v2.0 was released in late March / early April.

===== Remake =====
In 2020, development on Minecraft 2: Remastered began. However, it was never publicly announced or released, and it was canceled soon after. Development on Minecraft 2: Remake began in 2022, a new and improved version of the game with more features, a cut in file size, and other various improvements. It quickly replaced Minecraft 2 upon release. It was released on March 07, 2022 by [[decentgames|decentgames]].
